 Course Description: A course to provide the fundamental information necessary to successfully develop microwavable products. The topics we’ll cover:

 What are microwaves and what are their properties?

• How do microwaves heat foods?
• How do microwaves interact with materials such as foods and packaging?
• What is a microwave oven and how does it work?
• What properties of foods affect how microwaves heat them, and how can they be modified?
• How do you select the proper container for your microwavable product?

 Who should attend? All those involved in Microwavable Product Development:

• Food technologists and scientists
• Packaging technologists, designers and engineers
• Ingredient specialists
