About IMPI

The International Microwave Power Institute (IMPI) was founded in 1966 in Canada to serve the information needs of specialists working with microwave and RF heating systems. In 1977, the Institute reorganized to expand its industrial and scientific base to meet the information needs evolving in consumer microwave ovens and related products.

IMPI's members include scientists, researchers, lab technicians, product developers, marketing managers and a variety of other professionals interested in the industrial, scientific, medical, instrumentation, food science, and other applications of microwave/RF technology. By combining science and engineering with practical development and marketing, the Institute encourages technical advancement both in the laboratory and in the field.

The Institute provides support to its members through three basic vehicles including meetings and seminars, technical and information publications, and special service assistance programs. IMPI is a nonprofit organization (US 501(c)3).
